Dennis Wayne Wood's Obituary
Dennis Wayne Wood, 71, passed away Tuesday August 16, 2016 in San Diego. Born December 10, 1944 a native of San Diego for 71 years and resided in Poway with his wife and four children. He graduated from San Diego High school in 1963. Dennis married Linda Sue Freeman on July 8, 1967 and spent 49 loving years of marriage. He retired from Solar Turbines after 44 years of loyal service. Dennis found peace through the Mormon faith and spent time working at the Mormon temple in La Jolla where on July 8, 2015 Dennis and Linda were sealed for eternity. He enjoyed working sudoku puzzles while watching sports on t.v., as well as a good game of cribbage. In his later years he found satisfaction doing family genealogy. He had a deep love for spending quality time with his family and loved a good joke and laugh. Every where he went he always made a friend. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Luella Wood, nephew Tim Rios and grandson Jayden Wood. Survived by his wife Linda S. Wood, son Dennis W. Wood Jr., daughter and son in laws Karen and Richard Wastaferro, Tammy and Jason Curry, daughter Deanna Wood, grandchildren Ashley Cross and Brody Blaisdell, Brothers and sister in laws Virgil and Sandy Wood, Fred and Jeanne Wood, David and Carol Wood and sister and brother in law Pam and Robert Rios. Along with many nieces and nephews.
