Diane R. Hill's Obituary
Diane R. Hill was born to Mr. and Mrs. Elmer (Estelle M.) Scott on August 5, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois (Cook County). She was the fourth of six children born to this union. Diane grew up in Chicago and later graduated from Wendell Phillips High School in 1971. After relocating to San Diego, California, Diane continued her education. She was employed for eighteen (18) years as a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a licensed Phlebotomist at Alvarado Hospital Medical Center in San Diego, California. Overall, Diane worked for over thirty-five years in the Health Care field. Sis. Diane met and married the love of her life, Deacon Cornelius Hill, on March 23, 2006. They united with the Greater Life Baptist Church in San Diego; and on March 5, 2017, they joined the Encanto Southern Baptist Church family, Robert L. Pope, Pastor. Sis. Diane enjoyed traveling, shopping, going dancing and to museums. She also loved to have dinner at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster. However, her declining health severely limited her ability to enjoy these activities. On November 21, 2022 - Sis. Diane R. Hill left time and entered eternity into the arms of her Lord. Although Diane had been ill for a long period of time, you never heard her complain . . . . To know her was to love her! Sis. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Estelle M. Scott; and one sister, Beverly Benson. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Her devoted husband, Deacon Cornelius Hill; Daughters: Enid Powell (San Diego, CA.) and Angela Noel (Atlanta, GA.); Son: Brian Noel (San Diego, CA.); Step-son: Cornelius (Melanie) Hill, Jr.; Sisters: Pamela (Hershyl) Edwards (Las Vegas, NV.); Beryle (Robert) Price (Chicago, Ill.), and Hazel (Richard) Clemmons (Alexandra, VA.); Brother: Kevin Scott (Monrovia, CA.); Grandchildren: Michael Craig (Chesapeake, VA.), Anthony Craig (San Diego, CA.), Jayce Scott and Jayden Scott (Atlanta, GA.), Octavia M. Noel (Chesapeake, VA.) and Andre Noel (San Diego, CA.); Great-granddaughter: Layla Craig (Chesapeake, VA.); Mother-in-Law: Mrs. Jimmye Hill (San Diego, CA.); Sister-in-Law: Michelle (Darren) Harden (Menifee, CA); Brothers-in-Law: Cardell (Vena) Hill (San Diego, CA.) and Walter (Betty) Sanders (Spring Valley, CA.) and a host of nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends, both far and near - to mourn her passing -- yet celebrate her life.
