Domingo Academia's Obituary
Domingo Academia, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, dear relative and friend to many, quietly departed this life on Saturday night, April 16, 2016 in National City, California. Domingo was born in San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines to Apolonio Floresca Academia and Catalina Ferrer Paccasio. He joined the U.S. Navy on November 5, 1945 and traveled the world. He retired after 20 years of honorable military service. He then became a Civil Service worker as a skilled Aircraft Mechanic for the North Island Naval Depot for 20 years. He enjoyed being a musician, horse racing, playing cards, Jim Beam, and was an avid Padre fan. He spent his retirement years growing vegetables, solving mechanical problems, traveling the world with his wife and friends and enjoying highly, stimulating activities with his family.Domingo is survived by his loving wife, Ceferina Garcia Academia, his daughters, Imelda Academia Cragin and Eleanor Academia-Magda (Cass Magda), son, Jerome Garcia Academia, and Grandson, Noah Palicte Academia.Viewing: Friday, April 22, 5-9 p.m. Rosary at 6:30 p.m. === Funeral Mass: Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m. St. Mary’s Catholic Church 427 East 7th Street National City, CA 91950 (619) 474-1501 === Gravesite Burial Ceremony: Immediately following at approximately 11:30 a.m. Greenwood Memorial Park The burial site is in the Garden of Tribute, located north east of the large flag pole memorial. ===Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
