Born on December 22, 1963, Donald was a vibrant soul with a larger-than-life personality. A proud San Diegan, he was a die-hard Padres fan and a loyal Chargers supporter who followed the team wherever they went through every city, every season, and every heartbreak and triumph. His passion for sports was infectious and ever-present.
Donald had an unwavering dedication to coaching and spent much of his life pouring into the lives of youth across San Diego County. He coached hundreds of young athletes over the years, instilling in them not just a love of the game, but a sense of discipline, teamwork, and heart. His presence was unmistakable full of laughter, sharp wit, and a spirit that lit up every sideline.
Outside of sports, Don lived with a playful and adventurous heart. He loved the challenge of golf, the strategy of poker, and the excitement of video games. These passions brought him joy and allowed him to connect deeply with those around him.
Donald was also a true friend in every sense of the word, loyal, supportive, and always ready with a joke or a helping hand. He had a way of showing up for others, no matter the time or distance, and his friendships were built on genuine care and shared laughter.
Above all, his greatest love was for his son, Christopher. Don's pride in being a father was immense, and his love ran deep constant and unwavering.
