Donna Mae Collins' Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Donna Mae Collins sadly passed
away on January 30, 2022 after complications with pneumonia. She was 85.
Donna was born on February 7, 1936 in White Lakes, Wisconsin. She grew up on the family
farm where her and her sisters and brother took care of the animals and did household chores.
In 1954, after being set up on a blind date, she married Michael Collins. In 1955 they had their
first son, James. Followed by Danny in 1956, Patrick in 1963 and Donna in 1964.
Being a Navy family, they bounced around the country living everywhere from Illinois to Florida.
They finally settled in San Diego in 1965. On top of taking care of the kids, Donna always did
odd jobs to make ends meet. Her specialty was baking and she created a successful business
out of baking and decorating cakes.
After her kids had grown up Donna enjoyed being a grandma and then a great-grandma. She
loved to do crafts and there was always a puzzle being put together on the back room table.
She never stopped baking and always had some sweet treats for anyone who visited. She will
always be remembered and loved.
