Doris Jean Mobley's Obituary
Doris Jean Mobley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 82, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024. Formerly of Williamston, North Carolina, she was a graduate of Williamston High School in 1959. She married her childhood sweetheart James Elbert Mobley in 1958 and they celebrated their 65 years of love and devotion together on November 14, 2023.
A military spouse and homemaker, she raised two sons while the family was transferred from state to state, finally settling down in National City, California in 1974. She found joy in bowling, cooking, cake decorating, crafting, and doll collecting. She was an avid traveler, visiting all fifty states at the side of her husband and family. A woman of many talents, she was most happy when outside working in her beautiful garden and sharing her love with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Doris was a devoted wife and mother. She is the youngest of 19 siblings and is preceded in death by her parents; William and Emma Bowen. She is survived by her husband, James; sons, Bryan Keith and Jerry Allen; grandchildren, Bryan Scott, Amy Michelle, Nicholas Keith, and Rebecca Nicole; great-grandchildren, Naomi Jean, Scarlett Quinn, James Pierce, and Isla Rose. Doris was a loving and generous woman and her beautiful life will be forever cherished by family and friends.
