Dorothy A. Hackshaw's Obituary
Dorothy A. Hackshaw was born on Saturday, April 12th, 1919 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Her parents were Claude Hackshaw born in England, and Ethelin Romero from Cuba. She was the fifth of seven children and she attended Rio Bajo Public School. She began her career as a Nursing Assistant in which she retired in 1984 after serving 47 years. She lived in San Diego for over 70 years and served in the Unites States Army from 1947 until 1948, attaining the rank of Tec 5. She was very religious and her most important events in her life were giving birth to her children, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies and activities were knitting and crocheting. Her favorite music genres were Swing and Latin. She is survived by her two daughters; Mita Giglio and Lee Nicely, and her two sons; Benny Adona and Max Adona, seven (7) grandchildren, eleven (11) great-grandchildren, and one (1) great-great-grandchild.
