Edith Joy Bassham's Obituary
Edith “Joy” Bassham – how do we describe our mother? She certainly lived up to her middle name. And that’s what everyone called her – Joy. She was happy, very strong and by example instilled in us a strong work ethic and kindness to others. Mom loved gardening – every home she and dad owned over the years was landscaped with Roses, Daisies, Camellias, trees & her favorites – Alstroemerias. During WWII she wired airplane engines. She was a florist for many years then a bookkeeper. After she retired she was a food demonstrator part time at Cost-co. She volunteered at Grossmont Hospital. We will honor her by living our lives as she taught us.
