Edwin Jerry Hopkins' Obituary
Edwin Jerry Hopkins, 84, of San Diego passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at his residence.
Jerry, as he was known, was born September 28, 1938, in East La Porte, North Carolina. He graduated from Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia. Jerry served in the United States Army in the Army Security Agency. After serving in Korea, he was sent to Texas, where he met his wife, Lois. They were married July 25, 1959. After marriage, he moved to various cities across the country with each promotion until they arrived in San Diego on Easter Sunday, 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Daisy, and three children. He is survived by his wife, Lois, son, David (Michelle), grandchildren, Caleb and Anna, sister, Evelyn, and several “adopted” children and grandchildren. Internment will be at Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Memorial service will be February 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at: Canyon Ridge Baptist Church
