Eileen Enid Bernardini's Obituary
LA MESA—Eileen Palmer Bernardini, native of San Diego died peacefully at the age of 91. Eileen’s life was enriched with her love of traveling across the United States and Canada in the family RV. Camping, seeing the wonders of nature, animals, sightseeing, taking photos, collecting memories and momentous along the way brought her great joy. Eileen was a painter, knitter, embroider, enjoyed needlepoint, loved puzzles, games and was an avid reader. Eileen was office Manager for 25 years for Bernardini’s Plumbing, her husband, Bert’s business. Bert and Eileen were also active members of the Allied Garden Optimists for 40 years. But above all, Eileen was a San Diego Padres Fan! Season ticket holder for decades and traveled to Yuma, Arizona for many preseason games. Eileen had many treasured friends, was gentle and kind hearted. Eileen is preceded in death by her husband Albert (Bert) Bernardini, Jr., son Ward L. Bernardini, son Gary A. Bernardini, brother David L. Palmer (Deanna) of Ramona. Survived by sister Claudia Beers (Robert) of La Mesa, son Steven (Bernadette) of New Brighton, MN, grandson David (Monica) of Imperial Beach, Nicholas and Adam of New Brighton, MN, great-grandson Jylian and great-granddaughter Ciara of Imperial Beach and great-step-grandson Victor Gallegos of Los Angeles, great-great-granddaughter Aryel of Los Angeles and many dear nieces and nephews as well. Also survived by faithful longtime boyfriend Tom Perry and his family. The family would like to express deep gratitude to Mt. Helix Care Home for their true love, devotion and tender care of Eileen.
