Eldon Chester Emig's Obituary
Eldon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother and uncle and passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2023, at Mt Miguel Health Facility.
Eldon was born to Chester and Freda Emig in Modesto, CA in 1940. He was the first child of 4, Merlin, Dale and Janice. They lived on a dairy farm and helped milk the cows.
After graduating Escalon High and two years of college he moved to San Diego in 1959. He married Judy Smith on February 10th, 1962. They lived and raised their daughter in San Diego and were married for 61 glorious years.
Eldon’s first job out of college was installing shower doors. He worked for Mt. Miguel Village and Southland before he became a General Contractor, building and remodeling houses. He continued in that field until he retired in 2018.
Eldon loved serving in his church and was a deacon, worked with the youth and was a choir director at Mt Miguel Covenant Church. He served as Chairman on the Building and Grounds Committee and was President of the Joymakers singing group and participated in the Christmas Story Tree at Del Cerro Baptist Church. Eldon loved music and spent many years playing the trumpet and singing in the choir.
He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Lora, Grandsons, Caleb and Jordan, great-grandchildren, Caysen and Madden, brother Dale, sister Janice, nieces and nephews and several cousins.
