Torres, Elena Garcia's Obituary
We honor the life of Elena Torres Garcia—a woman deeply devoted to her faith and fiercely proud of her family. Born on October 8, 1931, in Villa Victoria, Michoacán, Elena was the daughter of Jose Maria Gallardo Torres and Maria Hernandez Garcia. She was one of six siblings: Felipe Torres Garcia, Maria Socorro Torres Caro, Jesus Torres Garcia, Antonio Torres Garcia, and Alicia Torres Garcia.
Elena’s legacy lives on through her 10 children, 34 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren. She took pride in watching her family grow, always encouraging love and unity. Though she didn’t always agree with every choice, her love was constant. Her greatest joy was seeing her family together, with God at the center of her life.
Her faith was her guide, her bible was her light, leading her through every challenge and moment of joy.
Though she worked many different types of jobs in the fabrication industry, Elena’s greatest achievement was owning and running her restaurant, a source of pride and dedication. Her love and hard work helped her to support her growing family one delicious dish at a time. In later years she took loving care of her parents until they were called heaven.
Elena wasn’t just a mother or grandmother—she was our Mamá, our Abuela. She made sure we always felt loved, kept us fed, and never let us drift too far from each other or God. Her love and wisdom shaped each of us, and her laughter and strength will live on in our hearts forever.
