Elizabeth Drieci's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” Drieci, 87 died peacefully in her home on May 6, 2015 with family by her side. A native of Fresno, CA she attended St John’s high school, and enjoyed a music scholarship to Marymount University. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Erma Haughawout and her loving husband of 57 years Philip J Drieci. Betty created home after home for her family whenever her husband’s promotions required relocation. They retired to San Diego, CA then moved to La Quinta, CA. Retirement found her traveling the world with her husband until his death in 2005. In later years she pursued her art, enjoyed her friends and family, and the occasional trip to Las Vegas kept life exciting. She is survived by her four children, Philip Drieci Jr and wife Paula, Patricia Drieci Bennett and husband Jim, Thomas Drieci and wife Belinda, Mark Drieci, grandson Philip R. Drieci , her beloved sister Jean and her family, nieces Judy Loyd and husband John, Liz Iriart, and grand niece and grand nephew Jane and JW Loyd. Her bright smile and quick wit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Heartfelt thanks to her caregivers and hospice nurses who saw her through her final years and hours. All are invited for refreshments following the service at 8842 Diamondback Dr, Santee 92071.Services in Fresno Visitation and Rosary will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns and Blair Chapel 1525 East Saginaw Way, Fresno CA 93704 on May 22, 2015. Visitation 4-7PM Rosary 7PM.Entombment will be at St Peter’s Cemetery, 264 N. Blythe Ave, Fresno CA 93706, on May 23, 2015 at 10AM.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Fraternity of St. Peter, Griffin Rd., PO Box 196 Elmhurst, PA 18416.
