Eloy Gomez Villa's Obituary
Eloy Gomez Villa
November 29, 1953 – February 13, 2026
Eloy Gomez Villa, a family man known for his welcoming open door, witty jokes and being a cherished mentor, peacefully passed on February 13, 2026. He leaves behind a rich legacy of laughter, wisdom, and countless shared memories with those who knew him.
He was particularly proud of his work with the legal aid Society in Santa Cruz, California calling it a labor of love as well as his 25+ years as the Chief Administrative Officer for San Diego County’s Internal Affairs.
Eloy lived a life defined by his outgoing personality and an independent spirit that refused to simply "follow the herd." He was a man of his community who sat on his porch greeting neighbors and engaging in thought-provoking conversations. An avid reader, rarely seen without a book and was always ready with a thoughtful recommendation. To his friends and family, he was the ultimate "go-to" man—a steady beacon for insightful advice and a unique perspective on life’s biggest questions.
Above all else, Eloy was a devoted family man. He looked forward to hosting holidays, where he was famous for serving his signature prime rib surrounded by the loved ones he cherished. He was immensely proud of his daughters, son-in-law Mason and grandchildren and found great joy in the time spent with his wife, Anna. Whether he was cracking a joke at the dinner table or passing on life lessons, he had a natural gift for filling every room with warmth.
As a mentor to many, Eloy encouraged everyone he met to think critically, stand tall, and be unapologetically themselves.
He is forever cherished by his wife, Anna; his daughters Celina, Marisa, and Jaylene; his grandchildren, Venicia, Aivalyn, Maciana, Mayalina, Nathaniel, and Anthony; and the many friends who found a mentor in him. His final chapter concludes as he lived: with love, strength, and a signature "over and out."
