Enrique "Rudy" Orozco's Obituary
Rudy was born on March 25th, 1958 at Mercy Hospital in San Diego CA. He lived in San Diego until the age of 28 and spent much of the remainder of his life in Long Beach. His parents were Arthur and Evangelina Ramirez, and he was the last born of five children. He attended St. Rita’s and Encanto Elementary Schools, went on to Wilson Jr. High, and then graduated from San Diego High School in 1976.While in High School, Rudy boxed as an amature for five years and won various boxing championships including the Golden Gloves in 1975. As a high school senior, Rudy obtained his professional boxing license and fought eight times with a record of 6-2. Near the end of his boxing carrier he married Trudy Dunn and had three children including Rocky, Enrique and Arturo. He then attended Southern California Bible College, becoming the first in his family to earn a Bachelor’s degree. Following his college carrier he became a youth pastor and also worked as an editor for San Diego’s Chanel 10 News. After 10 years his marriage to Trudy ended and he moved to Long beach at which time he met and married Guadalupe Corral and began a new family that includes Moises, Adelita, Madalyn and Joaquin.Rudy established “Kid Rooter Plumbing” in Long Beach, successfully running the business for over 20 years. For most of Rudy’s time in Long Beach he was a committed community volunteer, mentor, and member of Pacific Baptist Church, touching and uplifting the lives of many he came in contact with.As a believer in the saving blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, Rudy said he wanted this time to be a celebration of his life; one of Hope, with the understanding that though his body is dead he is now present with Jesus, as well as his parents and sister who went before him.
