Erlinda M. Rogers' Obituary
Margie was born on February 22, 1964 in Subic Bay, Zambales, Philippines to parents Filipina and Frank Martin. She was blessed to grow up with a house full of brothers and sisters and is one out of ten. She graduated from St. James High School and attended college in Manila, prior to moving to the United States. Before Margie was born, God had already given her a special purpose on this earth, and a gift of life with a special challenge that not everyone can overcome.
At a tender young age while in grade school, Margie developed a heart problem. She experienced being in the confines of a hospital ward, radiology rooms, cardiac catheterization lab, and serial laboratory tests. She was a patient at The Philippine Heart Center for a long time. She was prescribed heart medications that caused toxic reactions to her body. In her young mind, with little ability to yet comprehend why she was going through this, she moved forward in life, and lived life with a passion.
Margie immigrated to the United States in 1984. She briefly lived in South Carolina and later relocated to California. She began her career working in the manufacturing industry. She also worked at Allied Signal Aerospace and Qualcomm Communications. While also working in healthcare part-time, it was at Allied Signal Aerospace where she met Darnell Rogers, whom she married and began her family journey with. After years of working in the manufacturing industry, Margie decided to pursue her dream career.
She attended Maric College and completed her studies in Patient Care Technology in 2006. Margie always enjoyed caring for others. She went on to work at The Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California and later worked for Children’s Hospital (CHOC) in Fallbrook, California and then found her final job at Palomar Hospital. Margie worked at Palomar Hospital for more than eleven years. She loved her job and her coworkers.
Margie was a loving, caring person and a devout Catholic. She really loved to travel; even just for a short trip. She enjoyed taking a lot of pictures, dancing, goofing off with her husband and children, and cooking – taking great joy that people enjoyed her cooking. She was so beautiful and had such a smile that would make everyone feel better. She wanted to grow old together with her husband and her family. They worked very hard together to achieve their dreams, and were ready to start really relaxing and enjoying life.
Margie transitioned to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 20, 2020. She will never be forgotten. She is loved by everyone who knew her. Margie will be reunited with her parents, brother Francisco, Jr. and others whom she loved and loved her. Margie is survived by her husband Darnell, their four children: Jared (Latonya), Stephanie, Jhealyn, and Larry II; siblings: Lolita, Nick, Luz, Ruben, Sally, Ogie, Helen and Rosalie; 7 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
