Erna Reiter's Obituary
Erna Reiter was a beloved Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Oma. She passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2022. Erna was born July 15, 1939 in Mannheim, Germany. Her parents were Erich Karl Lind and Louise Muller Lind who raised her when she came to America at the young age of 11 years old. She was a resident of San Diego, California for 72 years. On November 21, 1959 she married her husband Heinz Reiter, they were married for 62 years and together raised three children; Elisabeth, Erika, Steven and daughter-in-law Jacqueline. She had four beautiful grandchildren whom she loved deeply; Kurt, Ashley, Melissa, and Erich as she dedicated her life to her family.
Erna and her husband Heinz were involved with the German American Society of El Cajon from its beginning days. German heritage and camping were a big part of their family, participating in Karneval, KinderKarneval, Oktoberfest, Damenkreis, and in its time, the Wagon Train Camping Group, to selling her one-of-a-kind Holiday/Christmas decorations. She loved gardening, nature, and she loved her family immensely. Erna will be deeply missed. May you rest in peace, we love you!
