Esther Sue Fawcett's Obituary
Esther Sue Fawcett (Hastings) was born on July 14, 1935 in San Diego to Jesse Thomas and Mata May Hastings (Coker). She passed away January 18, 2018 due to age-related issues that were accelerated because of the flu.A proud Sweetwater High School graduate of 1953, Esther was involved in the school newspaper during her time as a Devil. She loved attending reunions throughout the years.Esther married David Fawcett on December 17, 1955 and they had a beautiful daughter, Nancy Ruth in 1956. The couple later divorced.From 1960 until the late 1990s Esther was a teller for Bank of America starting at the National City branch. She also worked at the Casa de Oro and Grossmont branches. She loved the customers she interacted with and made many close friendships over the years.Being the baby of the family, Esther is preceded in death by her siblings Ted and Ruth (McGee), as well as her parents. Esther loved family history and making connections between different branches of the family tree.She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Grosshans, grandchildren Julie Ann Cordero (David Cordero Sr.) and Kevin Grosshans (Tian Liang-Grosshans). She is also survived by three great grandchildren whom she loved very much — David Cordero Jr., Emmalina Cordero and Peizhi Grosshans.Esther will be interned at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego. She will be extremely missed by all who loved her.
