Obituary
On Monday, October 12th, 2020, at 10:34 p.m. Esther Riddels, loving wife, mother and Grandmother, passed away at the age of 92.
Esther was born May 19th 1928 in Pinedale, CA (She would tell you under a peach tree) to Diego Torres and Lucilla Torres De Valverde. She was the youngest girl of nine, five brothers (Sunday, Isaac, Paul, Daniel, and David), and three sisters (Nicholasa, Elouise, and Dorcas “Doris”). Was married and divorced to Garney Jackson “Jack” Beville to which she had two children, Linda and Charles. She remarried to Harry H. Riddels to whom she loved very dearly till his passing and is now reunited. Esther is survived by her sister Doris, son Charles, 4 grandchildren (Jason, Anthony, Timothy, and Krista); 5 great grandchildren (Alyssa, Stephanie, Thomas, Zachary, and Isabella), and 1 great great grandson (Aden), and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Esther was a very spiritual, religious and caring woman. She was loved and adored by all those close to her. She had a passion for gardening, sewing, hard work, and her church. She loved music, as she came from a very musically inclined family, but played no instrument herself. She gave generously, loved completely, and will be missed eternally.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th, 2020 at The Anchor Church on 1765 Pentecost Way, San Diego, CA 92105 at 10:00 a.m. Followed by internment at Greenwood Mortuary. Flowers and donations can be sent to 1550 Hilger St. San Diego, CA, 92114.
