Evelyn Daragin Alcaide's Obituary
Evelyn was born to her parents, Agustin and Ana, in Cabangan Zambales, Philippines on November 10th, 1955. She had 3 older half-sisters on her mom’s side, and was the youngest of her parents 3 children together. She attended “Immaculate Conception Academy” High School where she made many close friends; many of which she still knows today. It was also during this time when she met the love of her life, Melvin. After high school she later went on to study English at “Columban College” in Olongapo, Philippines. Evelyn and Melvin were married February 10th, 1981.
Evelyn lived happily in the Philippines until 1983, when she moved with her husband to Yokosuka Japan. It was in Japan that Evelyn and Melvin began building their family, with the birth of their beautiful daughter Ailyn in September of 1984. They enjoyed several happy years in Japan before Melvin was eventually re-stationed to San Diego, California in 1985. A few short years later, Evelyn was blessed with her second child, Brian in June of 1987. Evelyn and Melvin made many friends while in California and would often have relatives over to visit.
Due to her natural affinity towards children, she began her career working in childcare. She would later transition to being a full-time homemaker so she could focus more of her time on her husband, children, and later on, her granddaughters. She especially loved her granddaughters Olivia and Penelope.
Evelyn was full of love. She loved taking care of people. She made many sacrifices over the years to give everything she possibly could for her children, family, and friends. Evelyn was the most beautiful, amazing, loving, strong, generous, selfless, and caring auntie, wife, mother, and grandmother we could be blessed with. She loved everyone so very much.
