Evelyn E. Dahlberg's Obituary
Evelyn Dahlberg passed away quietly and peacefully at home in the early morning of July 12, 2019. As in life she was surrounded by family and friends. She was 97 years old.She was born on September 20, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas to Eva and Roland Long and was the oldest of 3; a brother, William “Skip” Long and a sister, Francis Sweezy, who she was close to for her entire life.When she was very young the family moved to San Diego, California. While attending Hoover High School she met George Simmons, who she married on April 8, 1938. They raised 3 children, Robert, Linda, and Patricia. After her husband George passed away, she remarried to Leonard “Doggie” Dahlberg. Evelyn was blessed with 6 grandchildren, John, Darcel, DeNeen, Sandra, Gage and Anthony. She also was also a great-grandmother to 8 great-grandchildren.Evelyn was a gracious hostess who loved to entertain in her home where she made everyone welcome We will all remember her for her sense of style and love of fashion. She was also an adventurous lady who loved to travel; from campers, dune buggies, trailers, cruise ships and even a hot-air balloon, she was always up for an adventure.
