Former El Paso, Texas resident, Fannie Mae Jefferson, 76 went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2015 in San Diego, CA. Memorial Service on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, CA Fannie Mae was born on November 21, 1938 in El Paso, TX; daughter of Willie Thomas Givens and Fannie Mae Givens. She attended Douglas High School where she met life-long friend Mildred Peeples. Fannie was a seamstress at the Levi-Strauss Company, before beginning a 30 year career as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant specializing in Geriatrics. For 30 years, Fannie was an active member of Abundant Living Faith Center in El Paso, TX, where she served as a Greeter and volunteered in the “Clothes Giveaway” ministry. Fannie was a strong prayer warrior whose pleasure was to intercede for her family and the body of Christ. She loved gardening, sewing, and was an avid reader; and always had catchy phrases for life’s situations. Fannie is survived by her brother Edmond Willie Givens; daughters, Pamela Ann Grant/husband James Grant, P. Nannette Haywood and Cassandra Denine Anderson/husband Sammie Lee Anderson. Grandchildren, Sharita Dawn Figueroa/husband Paul Figueroa, Janel Elise Grant, Elmo Haywood, III., Daniel Edward Haywood, Tamara Ann Grant, Candace Athena Anderson, and Bryson Joel Anderson, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of friends. Fannie was preceded in death by her father, Willie Thomas Givens 1965, husband Bennie Jefferson 1988, mother Fannie Mae Givens 1991 and sister Beatrice Miller.
