Faustino Moses Esqueda's Obituary
Faustino M Esqueda was born on February 15th, 1924 in National City
California and was the last of 9 children to Andres and Anastacia.
Faustino lived in San Diego Ca. with his loving wife Mary whom he
married on July 27th 1951. He and Mary were married for 69 years.
Faustino was a WWII Veteran for the United States Army where he
honorably served his country from 1943 to 1946. During his enlistment, he
received a Purple Heart, Two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal,
European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal
and was awarded the Presidential Citation Award. Faustino was a proud
WWII Veteran that served in the “Big Red 1”.
He retired from the Civil Service and also as a Laborer for the Local
Union 89 where he was a standing member for 68 years.
As a man of faith, he served faithfully for many years at Grace Church in
Spring Valley Ca. where he was a Deacon.
Spending time with his family was important to him. He enjoyed coaching
baseball and softball for his grandchildren and great grandchildren and at
Hilltop High. He liked going to church, working on classic cars, and going
out to eat. He was a proud man and a hard worker that had a unique sense
of humor. He was a true mentor in every aspect of his 97 years of life.
Faustino was preceded by his wife Mary and daughter Ramona.
He is survived by his children Mary, Anna, Tino, Juan, Cita, and Jose.
He was a proud Tata to 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Tata will be remembered by his love, strength, wisdom, honor and
respect he gave as a family man, that will forever be with us.
