Francisca R. Korneman's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Francisca R. Korneman
August 22, 1940 – August 9, 2025
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Francisca R. Korneman, who departed this life on August 9, 2025, in San Diego, California, just shy of her 85th birthday.
Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Francisca’s life was a testament to resilience, grace, and unconditional love. Her journey from Chihuahua to San Diego was marked by courage and determination, and she carried her heritage with pride, enriching the lives of all who knew her with warmth, wisdom, and generosity.
Francisca was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She raised nine children—Bernardo Peraza Ruelas, Jose Humberto Rodriguez (wife Maggie), Carlos Guillermo Rodriguez, Juan Korneman (wife Teresa), Gilbert Korneman, Guadalupe Korneman, Diana Korneman, Jaime Korneman (wife Monica), and Ruthy Korneman—with unwavering strength and love. She is also survived by her two siblings, Castulo Ruelas and Barbara Ruelas, both of Sinaloa, Mexico.
Her legacy continues through her 27 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo Rodriguez and Adelaida Ruelas, and her beloved sister Tía Maria, with whom she shared a beauty salon.
Francisca’s nurturing spirit touched many lives. She worked as a house nanny for many years and was known for her welcoming nature, her love of storytelling, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. She found joy in simple pleasures—her morning coffee served very hot, her favorite breakfast of huevos rancheros, watching her Novelas, the show Friends, and Spanish-language news.
She loved deeply, worked tirelessly, and always saw beauty in the world around her. Her strength as a single mother and her devotion to her family will forever be remembered.
A celebration of Francisca’s life will be held in San Diego, where loved ones will gather to honor her memory and the joy she brought into the world.
We love you, Mami. Your spirit lives on in all of us.
