Frank Michael Tirpak's Obituary
Frank M. Tirpak Sr.Born 03/09/33, died 12/02/18 with his devoted wife Donna by his side.Frank served our country both in the military and in civil service for 42 years. As an aviation electronics technician during the Korean War, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.A native San Diegan, Frank attended local schools, and continued his higher education at San Diego State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.Frank had a great sense of humor, loved his family, animals, working on cars, backpacking, fishing and was very creative in fixing things.Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years Donna, son Frank Jr (Michelle), daughter Julie, and granddaughters Francesca and Karenna. He is preceded in death by his daughter Sandra, parents Andrew and Augusta, brothers Andy and Tony.We would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Senior Living for their outstanding care of Frank.In lieu of flowers please donate to a non- profit organization of your choice. After all, as Frank would say, donating to a non-profit may be a tax write- off but giving flowers isn’t!
