Freda Mae Thompson's Obituary
Freda was born in Decatur, Illinois to Raleigh & Opal Taylor. She had one brother, Marvin and one step sister, Doris whom she often spoke of with warmth and loving memories. In her childhood she loved to play double dutch jump rope & jacks, which she would challenge anyone to a game! She enjoyed school, was quiet and well mannered and only wanted to please those around her. She was a happy child.Freda worked at the Telephone Company when she met her future husband Edward. She was 19 when they married on the Fourth of July in 1946. The newlyweds added to their family the first of nine children in August of 1947.Leaving Illinois to California began her adventure of a lifetime! Once in California Freda’s family grew in size. Her life was filled with raising children. Weather they were hers, her child’s child, or the neighbors children, she enjoyed the time with them all.Freda had many joys in life. She enjoyed Christmas as her favorite holiday, pink as her favorite color and “Tinky” as her dearest pet. The Church and her faith were important to her but, her passion in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than her Family.Freda was a sweet, kind, and loving person. She is missed and loved by all who knew her!
