George Joseph Palladino's Obituary
September 21, 1938 to January 16, 2025
George 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Lemon Grove, CA. George was born to Emilio and Nella Palladino in Bronx, NY. At age of 17, he and his family moved to San Diego for a better life. Once here he enlisted and was sent to Liberty Station for boot camp and served one tour in the U.S. Navy. Once out of the service he was able to land a job with the County of San Diego as a day laborer and worked through many skilled trade positions, retiring after 37 years as a commercial plumber. In addition to working his regular job, he spent time working side jobs, installing carpet, tile and general handyman services to provide and support his family. George married Suzanne Gibson in 1964 and were together for 52 years until her passing in 2016. Since they had a lot of love to give, they were also foster parents for about 5 years. His hobbies included camping, painting, woodworking, lake fishing, deep sea fishing, hunting, and cooking.
After the death of his wife, he spent the last 8 years going on cruises and travelling the world. He loved cruising, seeing new and exciting places and enjoyed meeting new people along the way.
Predeceased by wife Suzanne Palladino, brother Emilio Palladino and nephew Alfred Palladino. Survivors include his daughter Anne Landis and son George Palladino Jr. Brothers Robert Palladino, Alfred Palladino, and Anthony Romano. Son-in-law Steven Landis and daughter-in-law Sheri Palladino. 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and other extended family, and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Greenwood Memorial on February 5, 2025, viewing will be at 10am to 12pm followed by the memorial service at 12pm to 1pm. The family thanks all that have reached out to show their love, support and well wishes.
