Gerald "Jerry" Peddie's Obituary
The Lord has called Gerald David Peddie home! In his 89th year, Jerry continued to be an amazing husband, father, friend, grandpa, and great-grandpa. His last days were filled with loving visits, e-mails, and phone calls, all of which he thoroughly enjoyed. We all remember his letters, sharing the grace of Jesus in his life; hoping for that saving relationship for everyone, which was a daily prayer for him. His compassionate heart probably kept him alive much longer than his frail body could withstand. His daily concerns were for others—right until the end.We will bury him, in a small family service, at Greenwood Memorial Park & Mortuary. Please believe we know of your love for Jerry, and Goldie, and our whole family. We are so blessed to have had family and friends that never left words of love unsaid, or un-shown. Actions can speak volumes, and he knew he was loved, as do we all. So don’t feel sad that we are not gathering together at the graveside in a traditional manner. Goldie’s and Jerry’s wishes are for a joint ceremony of farewell (to a true era in our lifetimes) sometime in the future. Rest assured it will be a big send-off, and all will be invited; no words will be left unsaid on that day.Hum a few verses of “Danny Boy” or play the song (bag-pipes version, of course!) to remind you that Jerry is “absent from the body, and present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8) — out of any pain or suffering — and joyously waiting until we all meet again in paradise.SCHEDULED SERVICES: The family has arranged a private service for immediate family.FLOWERS: The family has announced that there is no need to send flowers, but they appreciate the thought.
