Putting People First
in honor of Gilda.
Gilda Joyce Doby was the first woman I loved. We met as she was moving into the Plum Tree Apartments in San Diego. From day the first day we met until I left San Diego to attend Medical School at the University of Michigan we were joined at the hip. I became an adult with Gilda and I am eternally grateful to her.
Over the years I've often wondered what might have happened between us if I had given it a chance. I decided to write this remembrance of her after seeing that there were only three. I truly loved this young woman.
