Grammy always told me that God may have only wanted her to have one son, but she would also say that her biggest blessing was my dad. My dad was the greatest gift she ever had because he not only gave her five grandchildren, but many great grandchildren as well that she loved dearly with all of her heart. No matter who you are, if you knew my family you knew Grammy. It might have been because of her honest and blunt personality or her heart of gold and chariot loving soul. Grammy was a grandma to everyone, and she was my rock. I could trust her with my soul and could tell her everything. I’ll never forget all the stories she would tell all us over and over again, a million times or all the times I beat her at Monopoly. She meant the world to me and I am so happy she is at peace with with my papa and the rest of her family. My papa told her he would be waiting for her at the gates of heaven with his semi truck, ready to take her on their endless road trip. Knowing that, I know she is in a much better place. It doesn’t make it easier and every day I wish I could pick up the phone and speak with her and tell her all about my adventures. She would want me and all of you to be happy and cherish all the memories she made with us. And remember that when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure that you will hold in your heart forever. So let’s do what she would want: smile, love and live on. ??
