Gloria Palasik Whitney's Obituary
Born and reared in Wisconsin and Illinois. Family moved to Lemon Grove when she was 18 and attended San Diego State College for a year then went to work. She met her first husband Lee Palasik in 1941. She is survived by daughters Frances Schuster, Leonore Raya, and son Richard Palasik. Gloria was involved in many different things: she and Lee ran the snow cone booth at the rodeos and she drove the school bus, both for St John of the Cross; a seamstress personally and professionally working in bathing suit and parachute factories; was a bookkeeper for many years, and crocheted purses using plastic grocery bags. Gloria was religious and a devout Catholic. From Lemon Grove Lee and Gloria moved to Borrego Springs then Orange County. Lee passed away after 44 years of marriage. Gloria subsequently lived in Oregon, Arizona, back to California and lived in Spring Valley and finally to Santee. She was a very warm, kind, and caring person, delightful to be with, full of energy, always smiling and happy, and touched everyone she met. Gloria had 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
