Celebrating the Life of Goldia Reeves
Born on May 23, 1926 in Louisa, Kentucky where she lived until 1941. She was the 4th of 5 children born to her loving parents Elbert Muncy Cassady and Della J. Cassady. During her life Goldia worked as a sales clerk at a candy/soda fountain shop, assembly line worker making airplane parts, Apartment Manager and Mental Health Counselor. Goldia resided in Lexington, KY, San Diego, CA, and most recently Chula Vista, CA. Goldia married the love of her life Herman Reeves and spent 28 beautiful years together before entering into rest in 1974. Goldia was also blessed to have to some special friends in her life, starting with Del and Marilyn Schuster and Devin Lynette Milner. Goldia was true to her faith and enjoyed celebrations that would bring the family together for weddings, the birth of her daughters, grandson and great granddaughter. Being full of life Goldia enjoyed being with friends and family. She also enjoyed walking, shopping, and eating out, but her favorite activity was going to Disney Land and her favorite music was country and Oldies. Her favorite song and movie being “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby. Goldia is survived by her 2 daughters; Doris Kelleher, Mary K. Reeves, her Grandson Sean Kelleher, Granddaughter Melissa Kelleher, Great Granddaughter Claire Kelleher, Sister in Law Ida Cassady and numerous nieces and nephews. Goldia will be most remembered for her exquisites, elegance, and loving care for all.
