Dr. Graham Simpson's Obituary
Dr. Graham Leonard Walter Simpson entered his heavenly home, surrounded by family, on June 30, 2015. He began his life on October 24, 1952, in Montreal. His family eventually moved to San Diego, where Graham graduated from Helix High and SDSU. He married Hope Aftreth in 1976 and graduated from Emory University Dental School, where he also received his specialty in Prosthodontic Dentistry. Dr. Simpson enjoyed being in private practice in Mission Valley for 31 years until his retirement. The world is a much more beautiful place as a result of Dr. Simpson’s exceptional artistry and dental expertise as he created thousands of beautiful smiles. In 2013, Dr. Simpson bravely faced his Stage IV glioblastoma diagnosis head on with courage and grace, aided by his wife and their four children. Their eldest son, Grant, is following in his father’s footsteps as he completes his last year of dental school; their younger son, Roman, will begin college this fall; their eight-year- old twins, Sahara and Savannah, will forever miss their Daddy’s love and guidance. Dr. Simpson wasn’t just a superb prosthodontist; he was also an incredible father, husband, teacher and friend. In every role in his life he was a master, even in his hobbies as a handyman, mechanic, off-roader, fisherman, woodworker, and goldsmith. Although losing him so soon is a tragedy, it is comforting to know that he lives on through the joy he’s added to everyone’s lives and that he is now with Jesus in Paradise
