Gregory Lee Green's Obituary
Devoted husband, father, and grandfather.Gregory Lee Green age 65 passed on Monday, February 20th; at Balboa Naval Medical center in San Diego California with his loving family by his side.Greg was born on September 29th, 1951 in Grand Rapids Michigan to Donald and Amelia Green.In 1969 Greg had enlisted in the U.S. Army with an infantry unit. Greg was stationed in Fort Ord California, and served the rest of his duty time in Wildflecken, Germany until being honorably discharged in 1971.Returning to San Diego, Greg then married the love of his life and started a family of his own. He worked as a machinist at Star Machine Works for 22 years. The following 15 years were spent working in private security. In 2014, he retired and dedicated himself to relaxing and spending time with his family.He enjoyed BBQ, bowling, fishing, woodworking, and doing household projects. Greg was always known for being loyal, strong minded, unique and a loving individual.Greg is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy along with his son John, daughter Michelle, and five grand children: Christopher, Stephanie, Justin, Brandon, and Brian; along with a great granddaughter named Olivia.Visitation will be held Wednesday March 8th at 11 am at Greenwood Memorial Park. Burial services will follow at Miramar National cemetery at 2:30 pm in San Diego, California.
