Guy Anthony DeAngelo, 91, of San Diego, went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2019.Guy DeAngelo was the son of Frank and Fillipa (Arena) DeAngelo. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Samuel, Thomas, Jack, Larry, Michael, Frank Jr., and sisters Margaret and Josephine. He is survived by his loving wife Millie (Dattolo) DeAngelo and children Robert Ennis and wife Jinna, David Ennis and wife Leticia, Peggy Ford and husband William, Barbara Martinez and husband Ernest, and Donna DeAngelo.Guy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather spanning four generations of family. His grandchildren include Lisa, Ernie, Tony, Phillip, Brandy, Rave, Nicole, Eric, and Marcus. Great grandchildren include PJ, Lil Jimmy, Mya, Danica, Vivi, Dante, Kali, Chelsea, Gabe, Abigail, DeAngelo, Roman, Caleb, and Lil David.Born on May 18th, 1928, in Hooversville, Penn., Mr. DeAngelo moved to Johnstown, Penn., at the age of five. At the age of 16, he moved to Bridgeport, Conn. In 1948 he started a construction company that built concrete house foundations and operated the business for 20 years.He married Millie Dattolo Ennis on Dec. 28, 1968, and moved to San Diego in 1974. He and Millie celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2018. A longtime resident of the College Grove area, Guy started the A. Aaron Lock and Key Shop in Lemon Grove in 1975. Forty-five years after its opening, his son David still operates the business today.Guy loved ballroom dancing, which he started at age 16. He became a dance instructor in 1960. With Millie he traveled yearly to various cities doing exhibition dancing. In 2004 at age 76, Guy and Millie entered the San Diego County Fair Ballroom Dance, their first and only time dancing competitively, and won nine awards—their most treasured being the People’s Choice Award. He retired from ballroom dancing at age 88.A celebration of life will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA 92113, on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 at 12 – 2 p.m. Internment at 2:15 p.m.
