GW Wright's Obituary
GW "Sonny" Wright was born to Roosevelt and Geneva Wright on February 3, 1935, in Marshall, Texas. He was one of seven children and attended public school in Harrison County.
In 1955, GW joined the United States Navy, where he served for ten years and was honorably discharged on August 13, 1965. At this point, he began a career as a civil servant, where he worked as assistant director in the Operations Food Management Department at Naval Medical Center (Balboa Hospital) in San Diego, California, for over 40 years.
He met this beautiful young lady Peggy Anderson (who affectionately called him Gregory) while still serving his military duties. They then married on his 37th birthday. With this marriage, he inherited three beautiful children: Otis Ben, Sharion Denise, and Saundra Lapa.
GW is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Peggy, his daughters Sharion and Saundra, two brothers James and Arluster, two sisters Cleadis and Sarah, and his firstborn granddaughter Tracie. To cherish his memory, GW leaves to mourn a son, Otis McIntyre; two brothers, Willie B. Taylor and Ardis Wright; ten grandchildren Kenneth, Theresa, Tonya, Youlanda, Stephanie, Otis, Michelle, Marcena, Marvin, and Michael; a host of great grand, great great grand, nephews, nieces; and friends (who also knew him as Gigolo G).
