Harold Louis Leighton's Obituary
Harold Louis Levy (Leighton)Born in March 18, 1926 in Woodhaven, Queens County, New York. He was born and raised in a Jewish home. In 1944 he joined the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Medic / Musician. When he returned from the war he married Mildred Thorstensen. Due to religious conflicts, he changed his name from Levy to Leighton when he married Millie. They had a son Douglas Leighton and a daughter Diane Leighton Sandoval. Millie died in 1982. In 1985 he met Sylvia Boaz Warren and her two sons Daniel and Justin. They married on June 17, 1987. They all attended Hope UMC where Harold was active on the Counting Committee, Orchestra, Bread ministry and the Tijuana Orphanage. He worked in the Cemetery Business for many years. His last job was with Service Master Corp as a trainer and in Corp management. He loved celebrating life with family, friends and everyone else, touching lives deeply in his special Harold way. He is survived by his wife Sylvia, 3 sons, 5 daughters, 5 grandchildren y 3 greatgrandchildren.
