Harold "Ed" Willoughby's Obituary
Harold E. Willoughby, also known as Ed, peacefully left this life on November 3, 2009 to be with our Lord. Ed was born in San Diego May 26, 1942 to Harold E. and Helen Pauter Willoughby. Ed graduated from San Diego High School in 1960 and the next day started his career with SDG&E as an underground engineer. Ed became a gas service supervisor and helped organize the relief effort to restore gas service after the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. Ed’s dedication and attitude were valued during his career of over 45 years. Ed enjoyed working on his home and was called on by many for his expertise to assist on repairs on their homes and cars. Ed was a devoted Padres and Chargers fan by way of his Lazy boy and the TV. Ed enjoyed camping, traveling, cruising with his family and friends. Ed had a big heart and touched and influenced many with his wealth of knowledge. Ed will be dearly missed. Ed leaves his wife Jerry Elo Willoughby of 45 years; daughters, Jennifer Willoughby and Caroline Jill Owen; grandsons, Justin and Jesse Owen; sister, Barbara Berg and brother, Kenneth Willoughby. Arrangements under the direction of Greenwood Mortuary, San Diego, California.
