It has been a joy for me to have been a "Nephew-In-Law" since 1973 when I married one of her nieces, Marjorie Rose Netzke in Phoenix, AZ. Her home in La Mesa, with husband Keith, was always our "go to" haven when we visited from Phoenix. Even after Marjorie's death in 1996, she and Keith kept me in their "extended family." This is true even after Marjorie and I moived to La Jolla. Harriet and Keith are only a small duo some in a large number of Netzke's and related family (more than 20 ) and Gregories and MacGregors and related family (maybe another 20). Holiday's were always a special event and Harriet was a permanent "kitchen Chief" as she loved being so involved with as many of her overall family that could participate. Also, my two daughters, Janda and Carrie relished in the Holiday festivities. And when there was no Holiday on the calendar there were many family get togethers at "Journey's End." This is Harriet and Keith's cabin in he beautiful pine tree mountains near the village of Blue Jay. Really delightful to go there many btimes. Harriet was very active in her Sorority, Beta Sigma Phi and She and other members made large chocolate Easter Eggs that supply was way less than demand because they were so delicious. And, oh my, there were the dogs in her life that she just adored and was deeply heart broken when they died. Well, it is just not posible to put into words how much she contributed to so many people in her large family and her Sororitory Sisters. In addition, a tribute to Harriet would not be complete without remembering sharing her working years with fellow workers for over 20 years at the Telephone Company. I, among others, were honorde as she celebrated her retirement at Tom's Lighthouse on Harbor Island. In closing, let me simply reflect here in warm, love filled words, that my memories about that small part of her life will never dim.
