Mrs. Hazel Lee Bradshaw's Obituary
Hazel Lee Rochelle Bradshaw was born April 5, 1933, to Pink Rochelle & Laura Hall in Texarkana, TX. She was the only child born to this union. Hazel grew up in Texarkana until her family moved to Idabel, OK when she was 10. Hazel attended Galilee, Slater & Booker T. Washington High School. She join the Galilee Baptist Church at the age of 12 under the pastorage of the late Rev. R.B. Green, whom she dearly loved. Hazel continued her education at Jewel Beauty College enhancing her skills in cosmetology, she also attended Texarkana Business College. In 1951 Hazel moved to San Diego where she united with Greater Trinity Baptist Church under the late Rev. Gayton and continued her faithful service until her passing under her Pastor and friend Rev. Clyde E. Gaines. Hazel held many offices at Greater Trinity. It was a joy for her serving in her Church and she just really loved helping her fellow man. She truly loved the LORD and her church family. She always said “God’s been good to me”. She loved to share and entertain with good comfort food. Hazel was President of the Oklahoma Alumni School reunion. She held many offices in the Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.) holding the title of Grand Matron of the United States of California. She retired from General Dynamics in 1992 as a Quality Assurance Inspector. She held many positions in the 30 years she worked in the Aero Space industry. She was married to Huey Blacksher (who preceded her in death), from this union, was born one son Freddie Blacksher (Zebbra). In 1953 she married Edward Bradshaw, two children were born to this union, Rodger (who preceded her in death) (Joanie) and Waymond (Sheila). Seven grandchildren, Jurea, Jason, Waymond Jr., Kelly, Sharisse, Brittany and Brook. Fifteen great grandchildren, one Step-son Edward Jr. (who preceded her in death) and two step-granddaughters, Shaheera and Rayya. One aunt, Celia Mae Duffy (Marion), three special cousins, Dorothy Fisher, Ruby Rigsby and Lillie Trammell. One adopted sister, Lee Versie Johnson, one God-sister, Evelyn Johnson-LaGrone, Twelve God-children, three very special friends since grade school, Martha Jean Butler, Elma Cooksey and Lucille English. Many cousins and adopted nieces and nephews. Hazel leaves to cherish her memories and a life dedicated to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, our GOD.
