Helen Janet Hurley's Obituary
Helen J. Hurley was born on April 10,1914 In Omro, Wisconsin, the second oldest and last remaining child of Levi and Mavin Brunson.After her mother’s death, her father brought five children to El Cajon, California. Here she entered Grossmont High School in 1927, graduating in 1931. She graduated from San Diego State College in 1935. After teaching in Rancho Santa Fe for six years, she married Otis Hurley Jr. and they farmed in the Lakeside / Santee area. She resumed teaching in the Cajon Valley District in 1956 and retired in 1973.Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by her husband, Otis D. Hurley, and one son Otis D. Hurley III. She is survived by son, Lawrence and wife Annie, Grandsons and wives, Alexander and Joy, Montgomery and Jennifer, and great grandchildren Ryle, Alyse, Bryson, Wyatt and Tanner Hurley, all of the Northwest Oregon area. A daughter-in-law Shirley Lievanos of Tennessee also survives.Helen will be greatly missed.
