WALLACE, HENRIETTA's Obituary
Henrietta Wallace, born on October 14, 1939, in Camden, Alabama, Wilcox County, to the late Carrie Davis, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024. She was one of seventeen children, with eight sisters and eight brothers. Henrietta was predeceased by two sisters and six of her brothers.
Henrietta married the love of her life, John Wallace, who preceded her in death in 2003. Together, they raised a loving family of five children: Roy (deceased 1987), George, Henrietta (Billy), John (Christina), and Betty Ann (deceased 2024). She was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to fifteen great-grandchildren. Henrietta also cherished a host of nieces and nephews, along with a special group of friends.
Henrietta had a passion for gardening, lovingly tending to what she called “The Garden of Eden on Irving,” a name given by her dear friend Ms. Lillian. She found immense joy in working with the earth, planting seeds, and sharing the bountiful harvest with her neighbors, church, and anyone in need. Her generosity and love for her community were evident in every batch of greens, lemons, or oranges she shared.
Henrietta’s legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She has now joined the Heavenly Garden, where she will continue to nurture and care for those around her.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
