Hilda Louise Freese's Obituary
Hilda Louise (Heil) Freese of Coronado, CA, died Saturday, November 9, 2013. Born May 18, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a graduate of Allegheny High School and worked in the insurance industry. After moving to Coronado, she married her husband, George Freese. Together they were very active in the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, VFW Post 2422, and the VFW Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilda and Edward Rambo, her husband George, her son Harry Bryant, and two step sons Gerald and Alan. Surviving her are her step son, George (Cara) Freese Jr, sister Virginia Byers, nephew James (Susan) Byers, niece Diane Byers, grandchildren Michael (Daniel) Bryant, Lori (Chuck) Dempsey, Angela (Johnathan) Bryant, Lindsey (Paul) Maguire, 5 step grandchildren, 2 great nephews, 1 great niece, 4 great grandchildren, 18 step great grandchildren, and 3 step great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the hospice workers from Sharp Hospital, Hope (Walters) Sinatra, Josie (Walters) Condon, Phil Monroe, Bill Berson, and Gary Gerber for all of the special care and attention they have given.A memorial will be held at her residence in Coronado on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 11 AM – 1 PM with interment immediately following at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul’s Intergenerational Day Care Program (619-239-6900 – http://www.stpaulseniors.org/daycare-program), Helen Woodward Animal Center (858-756-4117 x350 – https://www.animalcenter.org/donate/donate_mem_hon.aspx), or a worthy cause of your choice.I’d like the memory ofme to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories thatI leave when life is done.
