Hoy Yee Shan's Obituary
Hoy Yee Shan passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022,
in Chula Vista, California, where she lived for the past 39
years. She was born on March 4, 1942, in Taishan, China.
Hoy Yee and her family immigrated from China to
Tijuana, Mexico, before ultimately relocating to Chula
Vista. They operated the Nuevo China Cafe restaurant in
Tijuana from 1975 to 2009.
Hoy Yee is survived by her husband, Kwong Yau Yu; son
Miguel Yu and daughter-in-law Manzhen Liu; son Shang
Bin Yu; son Henry Yu and daughter-in-law Cynthia
Zhang; daughter Qi Li Liu and son-in-law Po Hing Lau;
daughter Cecilia Crouse and son-in-law Lyle Crouse;
daughter Laura Yu and son-in-law Michael Huang; eight
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers
and one sister.
The viewing for Hoy Yee Shan will be Monday, Dec. 26,
from 6 to 8 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park. The
memorial will be Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 11 a.m. to noon
