Irene Theodora Tharpe-Fountain's Obituary
Our kind, wonderful, loving mother passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the age of 87. Irene Theodora Tharpe Fountain was born in Houston County, in the city of Perry, Georgia to Theodore Sr. and Irene Lawson Tharpe. She had 2 brothers, James Charles and Theodore Van Russell Jr, affectionately known as "Babe-Babe" and "Brother" respectively. Irene was the eldest of the 3 children.
During her childhood, Irene's family moved to Macon, Georgia where she and her brothers attended school and in time, graduated from Ballard High School. Irene, growing up, was also a local talent. She was an accomplished musician, playing flute and piano and performed occasionally around town.
Irene Theodora Tharpe Fountain eventually met and married Samuel L. Fountain Sr., and they became proud parents of 2 daughters and 5 sons. Their children are Annetta, Alice, Aldrich, Samuel, Stephen, Christopher and Keith. Raising a family however did not prevent Irene from serving her community as a Cub Scout den mother, A Care-giver in nursing and a Morse High School PTA President.
Irene in addition to her children, is survived by her Grandchildren: Kevin, John, Tai, Briana and Carmen. Her Great Grandchildren are: Kevin Jr., Elijah and Jayden.

We are deeply heartbroken to see our dear mother leave us...as all mothers must someday. But we can find comfort in knowing that our mother's love for all of us is everlasting 'till the day we meet again.
