Jacqueline T. Nelson (Barrett) January 17, 1930 – August 11, 2015Daughter; sister to one; wife to one; mother to six; step mother and great friend to one; grandmother; best aunt to several; sister-in-law; mother-in-law; simply elegant; classically gracious; broke many generational patterns; a change agent before her time; non-traditionalist; professional nurse; US Army Captain; dedicated to a cause but realistic about that; reasonable; animal lover; more interested in philosophical questions than getting the laundry done; a gentle, quiet, introverted observer, protector of the underdog.Jackie will be buried alongside her husband, William V. Nelson, at Arlington National Cemetery. Full military services and Catholic burial mass are being scheduled later this year.In lieu of flowers or other donations, celebrate her life by doing something kind for another – human or animal – that will make a positive difference in that life. Jackie would appreciate that more than any other gesture. She lived her life that way.
