Jacques, I just learned this morning of your passing. I had been wondering why I hadn’t heard from you, and I dreaded searching for an obituary because I didn’t want it to be true. You called me a daughter, and I will always be grateful for the love and friendship we shared. I will miss your laughter and all of your stories. Your memory will live in my heart always.

Jacques always encouraged me to step up in everything we did together, including operating the equipment. He constantly challenged me to do something I was uncomfortable with. With a good spirit and a great teacher, he always taught me what he knew about operating equipment. He knew I could do what he knew when I wasn't sure about myself.
I was heartbroken to hear about Jacques's passing. I have known the McIlwaine family for over 50 years. As a teenager, I thought Jacques was so cool with his afro and stylish outfits. He always had the latest albums and would frequently play his music. Jacques was a wonderful son to his lovely mother and a good brother to his sisters and uncle. We never know when God will call us home, and his passing was a complete surprise. Your work down here is completed, and now you are resting with your mother, father, and niece until we meet again, my friend.
Jacques was such a bright light and always so helpful and could make anybody’s day brighter! I will miss him!
