Jaime Abarca Garcia's Obituary
Dr. Jaime Abarca Garcia, 85, of Chula Vista, passed away on November 1, 2022, after having suffered a stroke. Jaime was born on December 1, 1936, to Guadalupe Garcia and Joaquin Abarca, in Parácuaro, Michoacán. Due to the untimely death of his father, Jaime, an only child, was raised by his mother in Tijuana. After graduating from Escuela Secundaria Federal Lázaro Cardenas (La Poli), he went on to study medicine at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). After graduating with is degree, he started his career as an Obstetrics and Gynecologist at Hospital del Prado, that eventually led to a year career of more than 35 years. In 1963, Jaime met Lizbeth Astrid Llanes at Boliche de las Americas in Tijuana. Jaime and Lizbeth went on to have four children: Edgar; Jaime; Aime; and Bruce. Over the years, Jaime enjoyed many hobbies, including bowling, playing jai alai, and being a practicing student of Kenpo Karate where he earned a black belt. Jaime was predeceased by his father, Joaquin, and mother, Guadalupe. He is survived by his wife, Lizbeth, children, Edgar, Jaime, Aime, and Bruce, and his grandchildren, Sophia, Zipporah, Bijan, Diego, Arman, and Alexa. Services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park on November 17, 2022 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you remember him with love and kindness.
