James Nathaniel Dean's Obituary
James Nathaniel Dean Born: April 26 1929 Died: October 23 2014 Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather.Survived by his 4 children: Sons; James D, Jimmy R, Bobby J, and Daughter; Penny M, 10 Grand kids and 11 Great Grand kids. He was born in rural Mississippi to John Ponto Dean and Tommie Dean. James was raised in rural Texas and Mississippi along with 5 siblings. At the age of 18 he joined the US Navy, eventually settling in San Diego, where he retired after twenty years of service. After the US Navy he continued work in the Federal service, joining the United States Postal Service, where he spent another twenty years as a letter carrier. He married the love of his life, Mary Ruth Dean, in 1949. James N. Dean, aka Pop, loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He loved spending time traveling with his wife and family. He just wanted to be a part of their lives in all ways possible. He was a member of the Masons, Eastern Star and Shriners, which is where he gave back to the community. Pop was always there no matter when or for what; always lending a helping hand to his kids, grand kids, and great grandkids. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family. Pop was beloved by all.There will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE service for both Mary “Ruth” Dean and James N.
