James W. Harper's Obituary
James William Harper III passed away at the age of 72 in San Diego, California on September 22nd, 2018. He was born on December 31st, 1945 in Geneva, Illinois to James Harper II and Donna Lancaster. Most of James’ friends and family called him “Jim”. Jim is a veteran who served 6 years in the U.S. Navy, and then he served our great nation 27 years with the U.S. Border Patrol. Jim enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Bonita Organic Garden Club. He also was a beekeeper. Jim’s personality was marked by generosity, intelligence, dedication, ingenuity, tenacity, and overwhelming love. He will be missed by all who knew him. Jim is survived by his wife, Marilyn Harper, his 2 adult children, Oliver Harper and Victoria Schmick, his grandchildren Henry and James Schmick; and his siblings Normadiane Murdock, Charles Harper, Robert Harper, Janet Sherry, and Giselle Rue. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Denise Clark.The family will be having a private service.
